"The works I have been creating recently are portraits of warped and strange human figures. They are small in size, roughly 10”x14” on thick white paper. They are multimedia, consisting mostly of pencil, watercolor paint, and mica dust. The primary concept of my work is the human body/face and how we change it to become more appealing to others. When making my work, I think a lot about cultural differences and concepts of beauty. Not only do I think historically about these things, researching different cultures and time periods, I also think about what beauty may be like in the future. The undertones of my works are absurdity and science fiction/ fantasy ideas of human beauty."
